Abundance turns to overflow, check in with yourself and your containers (body, home, mind, backends of business, etc). Make sure you have additional support for when the heat turns up — what and who holds and soothes you best?

Trust and celebrate and respect the water — the ocean, the lake, the rain storm, your tears, the cold shower. How quickly do you believe your cup is half empty? How soon are you willing to refill it? Will you let yourself float? Will you let yourself dance?

Overgrowth can require pruning, but first take a moment to connect with the expansion.

More bodies, less covering. You are STUNNING. Accept it, love it, love you.

Who were you as a child in the summer? What do you need now?

Know the difference between a vacation and a family trip.

Learn how to dive in head first. Play is freedom.

Let your hair get long and wild and tangled.

The last year in business I’ve been quietly challenged. This week Jill Arena turns 3, and in this last year I started and ended another venture, SW. I took on roles I am really good at, but ultimately brought me anxiety rather than fulfillment. I over stretched myself and put my witchy brain into a cage of old, masculine, corporate torment with the hopes of freedom on the other side. Why did I think I was not already free? Why did I forget that client work is the most fulfilling dream come to life imaginable? Why did I think complicating would bring abundance? I know better, but parts of me had to catch up.

That’s why I’ve brought @igniteengagement on board to support me through the many challenges that come with growth, alignment and ultimately connection as I move through what it takes to build a sustainable ME in order to have a sustainable business.

Last week I went to SC and had 2 incredible days with my sister in law Kristen and my coach Rachel and now I feel like I can add the sparkle back into JA that she deserves. No more cutting corners, no more making excuses. Just full body YES from here on out.

It’s scary to post this. I forgot I was mic’ed when I said this. I didn’t feel scared saying it then, but I do now! Why thought???! Why is it so scary to be honest about this thing I do still feel sometimes in front of more people than 2 women I trust?

My brain is trying to tell me a laundry list of all the reasons not to share this — but how has that ever healed me or someone who needs to feel seen, heard, less alone right now?

It can be really hard to say yes. Yes to the adventure, yes to not knowing anyone, yes to the long drive, yes to leaving your kids at home, yes to closing your eyes, yes to sharing, yes to trying something new, yes to admitting you don’t know how or why or when…

But sometimes there’s a little voice inside that says feel the fear and do it anyways.

The joy, friendships and self trust retreats can bring is exactly why we say yes. Because in saying yes, we’re also saying no.

No, I don’t believe these old stories anymore that I am not good enough. No I won’t listen to the voice in my head that says “what if they don’t like you”. No I won’t let someone else’s opinions of what I enjoy, seek, have interest in or want to spend my money on make the decisions for me anymore.

Retreats are always the BOTH/AND. The second you say YES, the retreat begins.

Never in my life have I laughed harder. These women, my team, those cows… they brought out the best in ALL of us. Laughter is freedom. When I built this retreat the only thing I knew I wanted was a giant sleepover party, and that’s exactly what we got. 🐮

I don’t have a Ted Talk, I have a Woods Walk.

INTUITION VS ANXIETY 🙌🏻 a favorite topic of mine and one of the most helpful things I’ve ever freaking figured out.

Once upon a time ya girl had a knock down drag out panic attack on the daily. We’re talking full physical symptoms, in public, at home, you name it. We’re talking medicated. We’re talking shame, embarrassment, the works.

Now I do still lean more towards anxious if I’ve overloaded my plate, but the attacks are gone because I catch it as it’s happening and choose to ALLOW my body to process.

Anxiety is many feelings and emotions flooding the body all at once. The body moves into panic mode because it doesn’t feel like it can pick which one to feel through first.

Intuition drops in like a little fairy that gives you no reason why, it just demands that you trust. The most you go with it and allow the reason to come later, the more obvious and friendly she will be. 🧚🏻

SO MUCH OF ME IS BECAUSE OF YOU 😩🖤 My fierce and loyal protector baby boy Mason Dixon aka meesku has been with us for 8 years today!!! (Swipe through to see 25 year old @asaparena and me just 4 months into dating bringing him home from @animalleague 😂)

As many of you know, our big boy has seen it all. He’s taken reiki and yoga trainings with me, he mediates with us, he takes his job as mine and Piper’s protector VERY seriously. He is high maintenance - and yes, I understand he’s absolutely my mirror 😂

He’s the reason I’ve been able to help so many other paw-parents… as his personality shifted post-pandemic further into the role of absolute protector, I had to find a way to communicate with him beyond commands. Now at 8 he’s the best he’s ever been. My big baby bad boy 🖤

How life feels right now —

Fun and playful while also dancing with the imperfect. I have to have complete trust in the love that is holding me up… and there is so much love.

These last couple of weeks I have found my fearless strength again — finally.

I picked up what I almost threw away; a chance to build something larger than myself. It’s taken so much courage, time, effort and surrender.

Most importantly, I’ve had to admit again and again there’s so much I don’t know HOW to do. With each moment that I accept an imperfection of mine, someone swoops in to catch me with their own expertise.

As it turns out, gratitude CAN keep you afloat.

Greetings from my cold weather nest of undoing and in-JOY-ing ❄️

I’ve leaned into the undoing of fear that once wrapped its fingers around my relaxation weeks surrounding the holidays. It had a voice of pressure, producing, lack.

In some ways, I’m grateful for that voice because she knows I am soooo happy when I work and create and I think part of her wants me to feel my best. But most of her was pushing me into this strange competition with my own potential that I was told WOULD fuel me, but never really did.

This year, as I’ve stated before… I leaned into my rebellious “fuck it” and that has easily morphed into a mantra of “it’s my holiday too!”

I’ve leaned into the deserving, the warmth of family time between NY/NC/SC and released the pressure. I’ve slept in, I’ve crafted, I’ve read, I’ve only worn jeans like once.

And now as I look to what society considers the “New Year” I finally feel 0 pressure.

It’s taken me a few years to move beyond the logic of the new year really beginning in the Spring and into the bodily knowing.

I do however believe it can be fun to use 1/1 as a check in, a reflection, a place to land and recalibrate. I’m not looking for wild resolutions or intense expectations - but I am very willing to play with my Capricorn stellium (my other stellium is in Leo!) during Capricorn season.

🕊️ The virtual workshop I will be leading on the morning of 1/1 is steeped in the understanding that you CAN lean into the winter season. We will be exploring the many facets of why our society pushes us to “become a new person at midnight!” (🥴) and where those expectations have lodged themselves in our self judgements. There will be room to journal on 2024 and simply begin to feel into the energies of 2025. Of course there will be energy healing, fun music and allllll the other good stuff.

Greetings from my cold weather nest of undoing and in-JOY-ing ❄️

I’ve leaned into the undoing of fear that once wrapped its fingers around my relaxation weeks surrounding the holidays. It had a voice of pressure, producing, lack.

In some ways, I’m grateful for that voice because she knows I am soooo happy when I work and create and I think part of her wants me to feel my best. But most of her was pushing me into this strange competition with my own potential that I was told WOULD fuel me, but never really did.

This year, as I’ve stated before… I leaned into my rebellious “fuck it” and that has easily morphed into a mantra of “it’s my holiday too!”

Home is wherever YOU are 🏠

Back when I was in college or even working for someone else I was really unafraid of sleeping in when I had the chance to.

Since becoming self employed there’s been this lingering fear, guilt… anxiety that if I didn’t DO enough then I wouldn’t ’make it’ —

Clearly that statement above is loaded with layers of feelings, doubts, the need for safety, etc.

There are times where I’ve had to get active in the analysis of the mindsets at play, but this season I’m in the blunt moment of… fuck it.

I walked into the beginning of my hibernation season with some rebellion, and now I sit here with satisfaction.

My past shows me that when I was able to offload my need of safety to a parent or an employer who set my schedule in some way, that I had a natural rhythm of allowing my own inner winter.

The moment I took on those responsibilities 100% for myself when I became self employed I allowed for the ‘mean boss’ version of myself to guilt me into shoulds, pressure, lack mentality and intensity.

I love that mean boss part of me because she really just wants me to be my version of successful. She knows I really do LOVE to do my work. She knows I have seasons of loving early morning wake ups and building…

But it’s not every season.

And the moment I said fuck it, the gratitude came in. This is exactly what I wanted when it was snowing in NYC and I had to take subways into Manhattan. This is exactly what I wanted when I had to walk through wind and ice in upstate NY to class. I wanted to say fuck it without some looming scary consequence.

I’m so grateful I figured out a way to give myself the winter I desire. And this year it’s apparently beginning with sparkly nails, sleeping past 8am, crafting most of the day in a nest on the floor and snuggling with Mike.

Hell ya to the fuck it moment. Let it bring you peace. Let yourself be buried under all the blankets. You deserve it.

Day 4 — Blue Ridge, GA Retreat

Given how small and intimate our group was, it was really easy to break down our morning practice into mini 1:1s.

Each guest got to meet with me, Augustina and Chloe individually.

During their time with @aanitsugua and I, they each got to ask any questions they still had that were lingering, share their deepest, most profound moments and also tie up any loose ends from what they found throughout their meditations. We were able to give them feedback, simple tools and even validation for all that they were processing, building and looking forward to.

With Chloe, they each wrote a card to their future self and made a bracelet to represent their time spent in Georgia.

We got to cheers with non-alcoholic mimosas at our final breakfast that was full of giggles and excitement.

In our final practice together each one of us signed a vision board I made prior to the retreat. I couldn’t find anything to put in the middle, it was so clear that it was a place for us all to be represented.

We reclaimed our objects from the shared altar and spoke on what the time spent together meant for all of us.

We said our goodbyes and many hugs were had in our final moments together.

I believe we each felt complete. We all felt as if something new was coming to the surface for us each to enjoy.

I walked back in the house with @wehateyouchloe + @aanitsugua feeling so proud of the team we became. Our trust in one another and willingness to GO THERE still carries on today.

Blue Ridge, GA Retreat — Day 3

How can I put into words the joy that was streaming through this day?

I think we all woke up giddy after the night before and I decided that we were going to go all in on embodying our inner best friend.

So after some simple intuitive yoga, we danced to “Sweet Emotion” by Aerosmith like we had never danced before. The room was so alive with silly playful girlhood that we were all out of breath at the end.

We then chose to build our collective altar. I know in many other group settings this can be done on day 1, but I wanted our altar to represent what we’re building, who we’re becoming. It felt perfect to build from the energy we were fully living within - wholeness.

On day 3 we got to make brooms with the amazing @mhcrafted and oh my goddess did Mark deliver! We had the best time creating and crafting on one of our outdoor areas.

We got to toast with non-alcoholic wine for our final dinner and we sat outside under the stars. It was a beautiful feast.

We ended the evening with one of the most classic witchy rituals one can do — a seance.

Yes, a seance. No, not like the kind you see on tv.

I lead the group into a deep mediation that allowed them to call forward and experience their loved ones for themselves. This called upon another facet of my mediumship where I use it to support, guide and promote safety as the women were able to use their own abilities - because, we all have them.

I was so proud to hear as they came out of the practice that each one of us had a profound experience that lended a hand to more confidence and ease along the spiritual journey we all walk.

And that night, a bear stopped by 👀

Just to steal our trash can… and maybe emotionally terrorize @aanitsugua 😂😂😂

We discussed why it can be hard to allow your own body to lead the way when there’s a teacher at the front of the room. We moved in and out of the sticky parts.

Hands on energy healing and micro assists were used to deepen each practice. @panemorfiphotography reflected back to me afterward how fun it was to watch each body and facial expression move in tandem with whatever my hands were doing.

We then had some free time - some went to town, others got into the woods, most got an award winning massage from @formbodylymph !

Our 2nd practice of the day was one of looking into the mirror of our inner critic. Who are they? What do they look like? What habits do they have? How often are they present?

We discussed that the inner critic is here to protect us and the only way to get her to relax is to allow her to feel safe, seen… loved.

After dinner we met a final time.

And I decided to take a risk.

After burning some journal pages in the fire we all went….

How glorious it is to feel FREE alongside your sisters!!!

Did you know that I never “plan” anything I’m leading until either 15 minutes before… otherwise, I’m free styling, baby.

That morning I wrote in my journal —

“I release the need, the habit, the hurt of learning + aligning through the passage of pain. Today, I CHOOSE to live in the power of my blessings, magic and gifts. Today I choose to lead!”

Clearly, I was on to something because we began by releasing —

Releasing what we showed up with, whether it was the shit we’re working through, the energetics of travel…

We shook it off, physically. Right off the bat the music was loud and we were MOVIN’!

Shaking meditations are always my favorite - not only because they WORK but also because they always lead to a dance party. Which… it did.

From there we went into intros (lol ya, we shook and went wild before we technically knew each other… because… trust).

Then we went into meditation + energy healing.

It was profound to start off the wild woman energy as a group from the moment we circled. Believe me when I say, it carried on.

We ended the night with more meditation + energy work to get clear on what we were calling in under the new moon. We then vision boarded with @aanitsugua leading our way.

It was so fun to be in girlhood… the music was light, the vibes were right… giggles were had.
